# Gluster For Swift # Swift-On-File
Integrating GlusterFS as the back-end to OpenStack Swift Swift-On-File, formerly called Gluster-Swift, enables files and directories
implementation. This is a component of the Unified File and Object (UFO) created on any filesystem (that supports xattrs) to be accessed as objects
story for GlusterFS, which allows files and directories created via via the Swift API. This however currently supports only XFS and GlusterFS.
gluster-native/nfs/samba mount(s) to be accessed as objects via
the Swift API.
