Hard Drive Options

For hard drive storage, supports high-performance and drives as well as rotational disks.

To increase system performance, you can use a or a drive on hosts in place of any rotational drive. provides faster read-write access than mechanical drives. supports the full performance potential of by providing a faster communications bus compared to the or technology used with standard .

On storage hosts, or drives are required for journals or Ceph caching.

For drives, a host with an -ready BIOS and connectors or adapters is required.

To use an drive as a root drive, you must enable support in the host BIOS. In addition, when installing the host, you must perform extra steps to assign the drive as the boot device.
